The 2025 DAAD AgEcon Scholarships For Developing Countries is funded by the German Government to support international students that want to pursue their Masters degrees in Germany.


The 2025 DAAD AgEcon Scholarships offer €9,000 per year to selected candidates from developing countries to study for a Master’s in Agricultural Economics at the University of Hohenheim.

DAAD AgEcon Scholarships Details:

The AgEcon Scholarships is provided by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) under its special initiative “Development-Related Postgraduate Courses” (EPOS).

Through the EPOS scholarships, the DAAD supports excellent candidates from developing countries who have strong academic and professional background.

Scholarship recipients who usually have work experience in public organizations, government institutions, or private companies in developing countries. They are often involved in planning and carrying out projects that focus on development policies. These policies typically relate to areas like technology, economics, or social impact..


What Are The Eligibility Requirements for 2025 DAAD Development-Related Postgraduate Courses Scholarship?

 If you want to be considered for the 2025 DAAD Development-Related Postgraduate Courses Scholarship, you must at least fulfill the following baseline requirements

  • Citizen of a developing country 
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience post Bachelor’s, prior to the date of applying

Note: that employment in academia, like teaching and research at a university or research institute, is not considered relevant work experience for this initiative; only in very exceptional cases can it be accepted.

  • Academic degrees should be less than 6 years old
  • Development-related motivations and intentions
  • Must not have resided in Germany for longer than 15 months by the application deadline

Scholarship applicants must also fulfill the basic requirements for the Master’s program:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related subject with above-average results
  • Official proof English proficiency as detailed in the admission regulations (see below) e.g. IELTS academic (overall Band 6.5), TOEFL ibt (90).


What Are The Benefits of 2025 DAAD AgEcon Scholarship?

  • DAAD University of Hohenheim AgEcon Scholarship recipients will have their tuition fees waived for the 2 years of the Agricultural Economics Master’s program, and they will receive health insurance, a monthly living stipend, travel costs to Germany and back as well as for research (see EPOS webpage for details and extras).
  • DAAD scholars will receive a monthly stipend of EUR 750 over the two-year AgEcon Scholarships program period and will do a two-months intensive German language course before the program starts.


The Required Documents for DAAD AgEcon Scholarship

To apply, candidates must be ready to submit the following documents;

  • Application Form
  • DAAD Application Form, signed and dated
  • Up-to-date CV (europass), in reverse chronological order, with date of issue and without any gaps
  • Motivation Letter (max 2 pages), with date of issue
  • Employer Recommendation from current employer
  • Certificate(s) of Employment from employer(s) that prove you are currently employed
  • Proof of English proficiency, as described in the admission requirements
  • Diploma & Transcript of Records copies in original form, with certified translations into English or German (if issued in another language)
  • University Entrance Qualification (UEQ) (secondary school leaving certificate) copies in original form, with certified translations into English or German (if issued in another language).

2025 MasterCard Scholarship at UC Berkeley Details:

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is a growing commitment, and, to date, the Program has committed over USD $1.2 billion to supporting the education and leadership development of more than 40,000 young people.

Based in the Center for African Studies at UC Berkeley, the MasterCard Scholarship at UC Berkeley has provided support to over 120 students from 2012 to 2020, both undergraduate and master’s degree students. Students seeking doctoral degrees are not eligible for this Program.

Going forward through 2030, the Program at UC Berkeley will provide support to over 108 master’s degree students.


2025 MasterCard Scholarship at University of California Berkeley Requirements:

If you want to be considered for the MasterCard Scholarship at University of California Berkeley 2025, you must satisfy the following requirements


  • Being a citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country: This includes Africans who are refugees or displaced within the African continent. This scholarship is not intended for citizens of North African countries. Those with dual citizenship, asylee, refugee or permanent resident status in the US, Canada, UK or EU are not eligible.
  • Having academic talent: All prospective Scholars must first be admitted to a UC Berkeley master’s degree program to be considered for the Scholarship. An important criteria for admission to the University is demonstrated academic excellence.
  • Demonstrating leadership potential: The Program seeks those committed to developing the skills and mindsets associated with transformative leadership, i.e., that which engages others in an ethical manner to generate positive and lasting change.
  • Coming from a socio-economically disadvantaged background: This Scholarship is designed for those extremely talented individuals who might not otherwise have access to quality further education.
  • Having demonstrated the commitment to give back to your community, country, or continent: We are looking for well-rounded students who are engaged in activities beyond the classroom. Some may be directly related to your field of study, but this may also include other issues (social, economic, political) that you are working on and passionate about. Applicants should elaborate on their achievements both in their application to UC Berkeley, and then later in the Scholarship application.
  • Having expressed the desire and intention to return to your home country after completing your studies: We are looking for students who are engaged with and passionate about issues affecting their communities, and who will take advantage of their education at UC Berkeley to better equip themselves with the knowledge and training to address these issues upon return. While important work can be done from abroad, the intention of the Program is to enable Scholars to return home, after forming valuable professional connections through internships, academic training and job placements. 


Duration and Reward Of The MasterCard Scholarship at UC Berkeley 

  • The Scholarship is fully-funded 
  • Mastercard Foundation Scholars receive a comprehensive scholarship equivalent to the costs associated with earning a master’s degree, which includes travel, tuition, Berkeley student fees, visa and SEVIS fees, housing, food, living expenses, and cohort signature programs which will focus on leadership and entrepreneurship.
  • MBA students need to secure additional funding from Haas Business School through obtaining Haas scholarships, which requires meeting the Round One or Two application deadline.

How To Apply for MasterCard Scholarship at University of California Berkeley 2025?

If you want to apply for this scholarship program to be considered for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, master’s degree seekers must first apply to the university through the regular admissions process.

  • After students apply for admission to a degree program, the Program will invite them to apply for the Scholarship, if they meet the eligibility requirements. 
  • Master’s degree applicants must first apply to a graduate program before they will be considered for the Mastercard Foundations Scholars Program. Not all degree programs are eligible. Here is a list of Master’s Degree programs. 
  • Each eligible graduate degree program has specific requirements and applicants should carefully review those. If a graduate program has multiple admission rounds with staggered deadlines, only those who submit applications in the first round can be considered for the Scholars Program.
  • The Graduate Division also provides detailed information on the admissions process for international students.
  • Direct questions regarding admission requirements should be made to the specific graduate program.

  • While the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UC Berkeley is not open to undergraduates, students at this level are welcome to apply to the University of California, Berkeley.

The timeline for this scholarship is stated below:

  • NOVEMBER 15: Emory University Scholarship  Programs application deadline. (Early Decision I applicants should apply by November 1 & Early Decision II by January 1)
  • OCTOBER–JANUARY: Applications are reviewed by admission and faculty committees.
  • FEBRUARY ENDING : Scholar applicants are chosen and notified.
  • EARLY APRIL :Finalists visit campus. Scholar programs membership announced
  • MAY 1: May 1 is the Enrollment deposit deadline.

What Is The Selection Process for Emory University Scholarship 2025?

Here's the selection process of the Emory University Undergraduate Scholarship USA 2025
    • The selection for merit-based scholar programs is administered by the Office of Admission in partnership with esteemed faculty.
    • Roughly 8,000-10,000 students apply to be Scholars each year. But, 175–200 students are selected as Scholar Finalists. Finalists are required to attend an on-campus Scholars Finalists Visit held in the spring. Finalists are brought to campus at no expense to the student.
    • Taking place over several days, the visit includes activities and interviews designed to help finalists become better acquainted with Emory University and the distinct opportunities available for them here.
    • Applicants who are not selected as finalists for a program are still fully reviewed for admission under their selected application plan and will also automatically be considered for other smaller merit-based scholarships.
    • The Scholar selection process completely separate from the financial aid process. When a student is eligible for both merit scholarships and financial aid, merit scholarships are awarded first. Students who applied for financial aid may also be eligible for need-based grants and loans if there is remaining need beyond the merit scholarship award.

    • Apply for admission to the Emory University in USA
    • You must select one of the three admission decision plans (Early Decision I, Early Decision II, or Regular Decision) and submit all required application materials. 
    • Those applying Early Decision I must apply by November 1 & Early Decision II by January 1
    • You also must answer “yes” to the question on your application that says, “Do you wish to be considered for merit scholarships?”
